Sustainability & CSR

Better packaging decisions can make a real difference.

Packaging has an important job to do, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t question how much we’re using, what it’s made from or what happens to it afterwards.

For us, sustainability is about looking at the whole picture. That could mean using less material, choosing a more suitable alternative, reducing unnecessary waste or improving product protection so fewer goods are damaged in transit. There isn’t one answer that’s right for every business, which is why we take the time to understand what you’re trying to achieve before recommending any changes.

We’re also committed to reducing the impact of our own business. As a Planet Mark certified business, we measure our carbon footprint and continue to look for ways to improve how we operate.

Planet Mark Certified

We're working on our own impact too

We believe that if we’re going to help our customers make more sustainable choices, we need to take responsibility for how we operate, too.

Our Planet Mark certification is part of that commitment. It means measuring and reporting our carbon footprint, understanding where our impact comes from and continuing to look for ways we can reduce it.

We first achieved certification in 2020 and have continued our work with Planet Mark since then. For us, it’s not about having a badge on the website. It’s about measuring where we are, being honest about the work still to do and making progress year after year.

Sustainable Packaging

Your sustainability journey won't look like everyone else's

Some businesses come to us knowing exactly what they want to change. Others simply know they want to reduce waste or move away from certain materials but aren’t sure where to start.

We’ll look at the packaging you’re using today and help you understand where changes could make sense. That might mean introducing paper-based alternatives, reducing the amount of material being used, right-sizing packaging or finding a better way to protect products in transit. Sometimes the answer isn’t to replace everything. Small, practical changes can make a meaningful difference without compromising the job your packaging needs to do.

Our Partnership with B&M waste services means we send zero waste to landfill

We believe that it’s our responsibility to operate in a sustainable and ethical manner to reduce our environmental impact. We have partnered with B&M Waste Management, an innovative, carbon neutral company that offers a recycle and re-use approach and ensures that minimal waste is sent to landfill.

  • 100% Waste diverted from landfill

  • 63% of our waste has been recycled

  • 36% of our waste sent to Refused Fuel power plant

  • 5% of waste sent for anaerobic digestion

Looking for alternatives to plastic?

Moving away from plastic isn’t always as simple as swapping one material for another. The alternative still needs to protect your products, work with your packing process and make sense for your operation.

As a Ranpak partner, we can help businesses explore paper-based protective packaging for cushioning, void fill and wrapping. We’ll look at what you’re packing and how you’re packing it before recommending a system, so any change works in practice and supports your sustainability goals.

Your Sustainability Journey

You don't have to change everything at once

Every business is starting from a different place, and sustainability isn’t something that can be solved with a single packaging change.

Whether you’re looking to reduce waste, review the materials you’re using or simply understand where improvements could be made, we’ll work with you to find practical changes that suit your products and your operation.

Our job isn’t to tell you that everything you’re doing today is wrong. It’s to help you make better-informed packaging decisions and support you as your priorities continue to change.
